Black Friday 2026 ideas for online stores: posts and ads that sell

Black Friday 2026 is on Friday 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November. For an online store, the posts that sell are a clear offer on your bestsellers, a gift guide by price, a bundle, and a countdown. Start two to three weeks early so your followers and your ads have time to warm up, then post daily from the Thursday to the Monday.

Black Friday 2026 dates

Black Friday is the Friday after US Thanksgiving, so it moves every year. In 2026 the long weekend runs like this:

DayDateWhat to post
ThanksgivingThursday 26 NovemberEarly access for your list and followers
Black FridayFriday 27 NovemberThe full offer, first thing in the morning
The weekend28 and 29 NovemberBestsellers, gift guides, what is selling out
Cyber MondayMonday 30 NovemberLast chance, with the time it ends

If you sell in India as well, Black Friday lands nearly three weeks after Diwali (8 November 2026), so your audience has just seen a season of festive offers. Make yours look different: a sharper single offer, not another greeting.

A timeline that works

  1. Three weeks before (from 6 November): a teaser post. Say a sale is coming and ask people to turn on notifications or join your list.
  2. Two weeks before: the products. One carousel of the things that will be on offer, without the price yet.
  3. The week before: the countdown. Stories every day, and your ads switched on so they can learn before the day.
  4. Thursday 26 November: early access for the people who asked for it.
  5. Friday 27 November: the offer, pinned to the top of your profile.
  6. The weekend: what is selling out, and gift guides by price.
  7. Monday 30 November: last chance, with the hour it ends.
  8. The week after: a thank you, and what is back in stock.

Twelve Black Friday post and ad ideas

  • The one-line offer. The deal, the date it ends and nothing else on the first slide.
  • A gift guide by price. One gift per slide, all under one price. Shoppers buy for other people this weekend.
  • Bestsellers, ranked. Your top five, with the number one last so people swipe to the end.
  • The bundle. Two or three products that go together, at one price.
  • Pick any two. Let people choose from a collection, which turns browsing into a decision.
  • Early access. A post only for people who joined your list, the day before everyone else.
  • What is selling out. A short update with real numbers from your stock on the Saturday.
  • The founder’s pick. One product and why you would buy it, in your own words.
  • Before and after. For products that show a result, one honest comparison.
  • Questions answered. Delivery dates, returns and sizes on one carousel, so the offer has no doubts left.
  • The countdown story. A daily story with the days left and one product.
  • Last chance. Monday’s post with the exact hour the offer ends.

Carousels you can copy

A gift guide by price works for almost any store. Gadget Galli, an invented electronics shop, puts the price limit on the cover and one gift on each slide, then ends with the delivery deadline:

Pick any two turns a range into a decision. Velune, an invented bottle brand, shows five colours one per slide and makes the offer about choosing:

A launch-style carousel sells one hero product hard: the promise on the cover, the facts that prove it, then the price. Dewlight, an invented sunscreen brand, does it in eight slides:

How to write the offer

  • Put the offer on the first slide. People decide in the feed, before they swipe.
  • Use one number: the price, the saving or the end date. Three numbers read as noise.
  • Say when it ends, with the date and the time zone your customers live in.
  • Say what is not included, once and plainly. It saves you complaints on Monday.
  • Keep every slide in the same look as the rest of your profile, so the offer reads as yours and not as a template.

Instagram lets a carousel hold up to 20 slides, but a sale carousel works best short: five to eight slides is enough for a gift guide or a bundle. Make the slides 1080 by 1350 pixels (4:5) so they fill the screen in the feed; our carousel size guide has every size.

Posts or ads?

Use both, for different jobs. Posts tell your followers what is coming and keep them warm. Ads reach people who do not follow you yet, so switch them on a few days before the Friday. A carousel ad can give each card its own product and link, which suits a gift guide or a bundle.

After the weekend

Write down what sold, which post brought the most visits and which ad cost least per sale. Black Friday is followed by the Christmas rush, and the same carousels, with a new offer, can carry into December. See our Christmas ideas for the next four weeks.

Questions

When is Black Friday 2026?

Friday 27 November 2026, the day after US Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday follows on Monday 30 November.

When should a store start posting about Black Friday?

Two to three weeks before: a teaser in the first week of November, an early-access list in the second, and the full offer from Thursday 26 November. Ads need a few days to learn, so start them before the day itself.

Is a carousel or a single image better for a Black Friday offer?

Use a single strong image or the first slide for the offer itself, and a carousel when you have more than one product to show: a gift guide, a bundle or your bestsellers one per slide.

Do I need a discount to take part?

No. A gift with purchase, free shipping, a bundle price or early access for your list all work. What matters is one clear reason to buy now and a date it ends.

Can Figcel make my Black Friday carousels?

Yes. Paste your store’s link and Figcel makes carousels and Meta ads in your own look. Your first pack is free; festival packs are part of the Growth plan.
