Festival and sale calendar for online stores (India and US)
This calendar lists the festivals and sale days that matter to online stores in India and the US for the next twelve months, with the date to start posting for each one. Filter by market and save it to your own calendar. Dates set by a rule are calculated; festival dates that follow the lunar calendar come from published calendars, and the uncertain ones say so.

How to use it
- Choose India, the US, or both.
- Look for the occasions that suit what you sell. Not every store needs every one.
- Note the "start posting by" date: that is when your first teaser should go out.
- Press "Add to my calendar" to save the whole list as an .ics file for Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook.
How the dates are worked out
Dates set by a rule are calculated each time you open the page: Black Friday is the Friday after the fourth Thursday of November, Mother’s Day is the second Sunday of May, Father’s Day the third Sunday of June. Festivals that follow the lunar calendar come from published calendars. Where sources disagree by a day, or the date depends on the moon, the entry says so.
Planning around the big ones
- Diwali and Dhanteras: a major gifting season for Indian stores: gifts, gold, sweets and home.
- Black Friday and Cyber Monday: a long weekend of offers in the US, and a sale moment for many stores in India too. See our Black Friday ideas.
- Christmas: gift guides and gift sets, with your last delivery date on every post. See our Christmas ideas.
- Holi, Eid and Raksha Bandhan: colour, family and gifting, each with its own look. See our festival carousel templates.
What to post, and when
- From the start date: a teaser, and a gift guide or an edit of what you will sell.
- The week before: the offer itself, with the last date to order for delivery in time.
- The day before and the day: a short reminder, then a greeting that still shows your products.
Figcel’s festival packs make carousels and ads for each of these in your own look, weeks before the day.
Questions
How early should I start posting for a festival?
Three to five weeks before for the big ones (Diwali, Christmas, Black Friday), so your followers see it coming and your ads have time to learn. The calendar gives a start date for each.
Why do some festival dates say they can move?
Festivals like Eid follow the moon and are confirmed close to the day, and some Hindu festivals fall a day apart in different regional calendars. Check your local calendar for those.
How do I add this to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar?
Press “Add to my calendar” to download an .ics file, then open it, or import it in Google Calendar under Settings, Import.
How often is the calendar updated?
The rule-based dates are always current. Festival dates are added a year ahead, before the last listed one passes.
